Flora and fauna Protection
One of the most important modern tasks of the Pripyatsky National Park is the preservation of floristic and faunistic diversity. These tasks are carried out by the forest protection service, which includes the chief forester, the engineering service of the forest department and the services of territorial subdivisions - forestries, in which foresters, their assistants and forest-masters are involved in the protection of natural complexes.
One of the main activities carried out by forest protection is the preservation of forests from fires. As a result of comprehensive organisation, technical and other measures over the past few years, damage from forest fires has been reduced to a minimum. Positive results have been achieved in protecting forests from unauthorised felling. Furthermore, forest protection from pests and disease includes measures for organising forest pathological supervision, by accounting and forecasting the number of forest pests and adopting preventative measures and combating forest pests and diseases
To protect the wildlife of the park, there is a gamekeeping service consisting of a lead hunting engineer and gamekeepers. These parties are responsible for the animal protection that is carried out throughout the park.
In order to combat poachers, a mobile inspection and huntsman service has been created, and raids are carried out to protect the natural complexes of the park.
The entrance to the northern part of the park is regulated by a checkpoint in the area of the Khvoensk village.
